- preheat oven to 450ยบ
- cut together until fine crumbs
- 1/4 . shortening
- 2 c. flour
- 1 T. sugar
- 3 t. baking powder
- 1 t. salt
- stir in until dough leaves sides of bowl and rounds into a ball
- 3/4 c. milk (approximately)
- turn dough onto lightly floured surface
- kneed dough
- roll 1/2 inch thick
- cut with biscuit cutter
- place on ungreased cookie sheet, 1 inch apart
- bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
- yield: 10 biscuits
- may subsitute all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour
